Question: Can you do half day for a good rate in Mission Bay today starting at pm? If so, I live in the gaslamp and would rent often from you. I've been boating since I was a kid and routinely captain my friends wake surf boat while they ride. I'm more than capable of being the Captain of this boat. It's just for a romantic cruise w my fiance.

Answer: What time would you like to start? The boat is booked until 2:30. Also, are you or your fiancé at least 50 years old or have a California boaters safety card? Also, how many hours would you like it for? I don’t use this site very often. What are the rates that are posted on here?

Question: I turn in mos w ID. Not sure if that is close enough. Would it be ready to board in Mission Bay at :pm today? When does it need to be dropped off?

Answer: Enforcement in Mission Bay is insane. You will either need to be 50 years old or have a California boat safety card. it’s easy to get and can be done online. It only cost $10 and never expires. In 2024 the age step up to 60 years old and then the year after everyone will need one regardless of age. The only issue is of course it’s timed, and it takes a minimum of three hours to complete. Even if you finish reading a slide quickly you have to remain on the page until the timer allows you to proceed. Without meeting either of those criteria, I will not be able to rent you the boat. It’s a kin to driving a car without a license. You may be fine however, if not, you’ll get a big ticket and they will impound my boat.
